Lia Rose is an important Bay Area talent who will be performing on the Giving Stage on May 8, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. EST. Your ticket will allow you to see and hear an important musical event and to give your support to the Women’s Audio Mission. The WAM supports and promotes women in audio. As you may or may not know, there are formidable obstacles to the participation of women in sound engineering and production. The WAM is dedicated to eliminating gender bias in the music business and creating new opportunities for women. Click on the link to enjoy Lia Rose’s exciting music and support gender equality:
Front of house and producer for this event is Piper Payne – yes, that Piper Payne – who says this about WAM:
I am writing to tell you about an organization that I have partnered with in the past to lecture and mentor for: the Women’s Audio Mission. This nonprofit needs help funding more classes for women and girls interested in audio. They are trying so hard to accommodate the demand and interest but cannot keep up right now with the resources available to pay more instructors, and deal with space restrictions and currently have to turn away students and schools.
Would you please consider donating to this cause and joining us for an online concert to benefit the Women’s Audio Mission with Lia Rose? The concert will be streamed from WAM’s studios in San Francisco via Giving Stage, an online concert venue benefiting charities and causes. Tickets to the online show are $10 and donations of any amount can be made at any time.
I wouldn’t be where I am today as a successful mastering audio engineer without organizations like WAM. I met them when I was in college at an audio engineering convention and was encouraged, empowered, and inspired as a young female audio engineer being welcomed into their membership.
Lia Rose made her debut record with Terri Winston, WAM’s Executive Director, in a teaching program similar to WAM in 2006. This record helped propel Lia’s career to what it is today — she is a formidable force in the songwriting world and she regularly writes, records, tours, and collaborates with other bands.
Please help Piper raise funds for Women’s Audio Mission.
